Demos are held in the Hoffman Haus kitchen as well as at the Grove House.
Owner and chef Leslie Washburne first came to the Texas Hill Country to implement her dream of owning a cooking school in the country. While her attention eventually gravitated towards buying and running Hoffman Haus, her original vision remains the same. She has provided cooking demos to both locals and visitors over the past decade. Her passion is to provide her students with the skills necessary to create healthy, vegetarian and vegan options that the entire family can enjoy.
Karen Vaucher is a 20 year veteran of the restaurant business in New York City. She owned several NYC restaurants including Bistro du Nord and Bar du Theatre on the Upper East Side. She relocated to the Hill Country in 2006. Karen offers food demos that focus on Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on France, Spain and Italy.
